COMMERCIAL INTERIOR DESIGN

Studio Records Night Club

Located in Vancouver, BC, "Studio Records Nightclub" is an innovative commercial project that brilliantly merges a curated vinyl record store with a sophisticated, live venue club. Tasked with creating a casual yet funky "retro basement rec room" aesthetic, our Vancouver interior design firm set out to design an environment where guests feel equally comfortable lounging with a drink or engaging in a high-energy dance party.

The primary architectural challenge was the building's history as a former movie theatre. The space featured soaring, 30-foot ceilings that sloped dramatically to the far end, which directly contradicted the cozy, intimate basement atmosphere the owners desired. To resolve this and ground the voluminous space, we introduced warm, tactile elements like exposed red brick, eclectic custom carpets, and strategic lighting to visually scale down the room and create a highly immersive, comfortable environment.

The defining architectural anchor of the venue is a masterful feat of experiential design: a bespoke vinyl record wall that functions as a concealed secret door, leading guests directly into the vibrant nightclub illuminated by a massive chandelier. Led by top Vancouver interior designer Reisa Pollard, every detail was carefully curated to deliver an over-the-top, dynamic atmosphere that perfectly balances trendy urbanity with nostalgic charm.

The final result is a pinnacle of commercial interior design in Vancouver—a highly engaging, retro-inspired destination that successfully transformed a tricky historic theatre into one of the city's coolest and most sought-after nightlife venues.
