Located in Vancouver, BC, "Multicolored in Montgomery" is a lively and vibrant home renovation that masterfully revitalizes a structurally significant property. Originally crafted by a well-known local architect, the home possessed distinct architectural details that our Vancouver interior design firm sought to honor. The primary objective was to respect the integrity of the original foundation while carefully stripping away dated elements to reveal a fresh, modernized aesthetic.

A significant design challenge was integrating highly specific legacy features, such as the original frosted glass brick, into a contemporary context. Rather than removing these elements, we designed clean-lined, modern spaces around them, ensuring the architect’s original intention was preserved. We expertly balanced the visual weight of the frosted glass walls by introducing highly curated, vibrant decor and bespoke furniture, drastically updating the interior while maintaining its unique historic characteristics.

The design embraces a bold, energetic palette, anchored by a striking, colored statement carpet. To create a cohesive visual dialogue, we layered bright accent chairs, tailored pillows, and geometric vases that perfectly coordinate with the vibrant foundation of the room. The undisputed architectural anchor of the main living area is an expansive, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, providing necessary structural grounding amidst the dynamic spectrum of strong colors.

Led by top Vancouver interior designer Reisa Pollard, what initially seemed like a daunting integration of vivid hues was transformed into a flawlessly balanced and cohesive environment. The final result is a pinnacle of abstract interior design styles in Vancouver—a truly dazzling, bright sanctuary that allows the clients to live joyfully within an architecturally significant masterpiece.
