Taverna Greka Restaurant

Located in New Westminster, BC, "Taverna Greka Restaurant" is a family-owned commercial interior design project that masterfully bridges the gap between traditional heritage and modern dining. Following a history of inconsistent, piecemeal renovations, the clients engaged our Vancouver interior design firm to execute a cohesive "new meets old" vision. The primary objective was to retain the venue's authentic Mediterranean style while introducing a contemporary flair designed to attract a younger demographic, all while navigating the complexities of a large footprint and a strict budget.

To resolve these spatial and financial challenges, we engineered a highly strategic layout that offers distinct, curated guest experiences without contradicting the classic Grecian aesthetic. We introduced a dynamic casual lounge tailored for enjoying appetizers and watching sports, creating an energetic, approachable atmosphere. This seamlessly transitions into a more formal, intimate dining area at the back of the restaurant, perfectly positioned to maximize the beautiful views.

Led by top Vancouver interior designer Reisa Pollard, the design successfully harmonizes historic charm with modern refinement. By carefully integrating fresh architectural elements with the venue's established roots, the final result is a pinnacle of commercial interior design in Vancouver—a revitalized, "go-to" destination for authentic Greek cuisine that effortlessly appeals to a new generation while paying profound homage to the owners' legacy.
