The Playhouse Nightclub

Located in Vancouver, BC, "The Playhouse Nightclub" is a luxurious commercial venue that masterfully exemplifies the glamour and glitz of historic entertainment clubs. Tasked with crafting a highly immersive environment, our Vancouver interior design firm set out to transport guests directly into the whimsical, playful atmosphere of a 1930s Hollywood party.

The primary architectural challenge was navigating the venue's limited footprint and restrictive low ceilings. To resolve this and visually expand the room, we strategically integrated fashionable mirrors throughout the interior, engineering the perception of a significantly larger, grander club without compromising its intimate, retro vibe.

To establish an authentic, golden-era aesthetic, the design heavily layers bold geometric shapes, striking patterned wallpaper, and opulent copper and gold hues. The defining focal point of the space is the main bar, meticulously embellished with bespoke, Great Gatsby-inspired metal details that scream classic Hollywood elegance.

Led by top Vancouver interior designer Reisa Pollard, every element was curated to authentically exemplify the 1930s era while delivering a modern, high-end entertainment experience. The final result is a pinnacle of luxury commercial interior design in Vancouver—a one-of-a-kind, retro Hollywood sanctuary that left the clients amazed and perfectly primed for celebration.
