Located in the heart of Douglas Park, this custom new build in Vancouver, BC, is a masterclass in blending historic architectural charm with contemporary refinement. Faced with strict local zoning limitations that significantly restricted the building envelope, our interior design company in Vancouver conceptualized an exterior façade inspired by a modern-day British row home.

By pairing classic white brick with timeless dark traditional windows, we established a striking exterior that commands attention while seamlessly integrating into the neighborhood's character. For the interior, the clients envisioned a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic enriched by eclectic, European influences.

The primary design challenge was to harmoniously blend the traditional, ornate elements found in historic homes with sleek, current design styles. Led by top Vancouver interior designers, Reisa Pollard and her team achieved this balance through a foundation of striking black and white contrasts, layered textures, and the introduction of warm wood tones.

This curated juxtaposition of eras is beautifully highlighted in the architectural detailing, specifically on the ceiling, where we paired historic panel molding with sleek, modern light fixtures.The final result is a highly personalized, custom new build that delivers distinct character and timeless charm, providing the clients with a true modern-day sanctuary.
