"Lovely in Lynn Valley" is a dream renovation designed to grow alongside a young family in North Vancouver. The primary goal was to transform a dated, closed-off layout into a light and airy open-concept space that prioritized both functionality and aesthetic "pop". By focusing on clever spatial solutions and a calming color palette, we created a relaxing sanctuary that feels both trendy and timeless.

Efficiency was paramount, so we improved storage by extending the custom cabinetry to the ceiling to maximize every inch of the kitchen footprint. When a structural beam between the kitchen and living room could not be removed due to budget constraints, we opted to clad the element in natural wood. This shifted it from a visual obstacle into an intentional design feature, adding warmth and architectural interest to the heart of the home.

The material palette was carefully curated to be as environmentally conscientious as possible, utilizing locally sourced materials throughout the build. We paired classic white quartz and a white apron-front sink with a modern matte black faucet to create a sophisticated contrast, while the island was painted in a striking deep-sea blue for a bold focal point. Accented by natural brass globe pendants and a custom matte shiplap wood fan, the result is a functional, light-filled environment that perfectly suits the needs of a modern, growing family.
