Hamilton
Located in the historic neighborhood of Yaletown in Vancouver, BC, "Hamilton" is a one-of-a-kind loft renovation. While the residence boasted incredible original architectural features, the existing floor plan was awkward and underutilized. Tasked with maximizing spatial efficiency, our Vancouver interior design firm reconfigured the layout to introduce a larger foyer, a highly functional laundry room, and an expanded primary ensuite.
To ensure the new floor plan felt perfectly cohesive with the building's heritage, we meticulously rebuilt the interior walls using brick veneers, architectural concrete forms, and warm cedar beams, delivering a profound sense of perceived authenticity. We also intentionally retained the original wide-plank flooring, which was uniquely laid on a diagonal. To neutralize the dated, orange tone, the boards were heavily sanded and custom-treated to achieve a beautiful, light ash-colored finish that instantly brightens the entire space.
Embracing creative problem-solving, the awkward area beneath the stairs was transformed into a dual-purpose architectural focal point. We integrated a hidden bike storage zone alongside a bespoke, lit wine display ingeniously crafted from vintage milk bottle crates.
Led by top Vancouver interior designer Reisa Pollard, every detail was carefully curated to blend historic charm with modern utility. The final result is a pinnacle of luxury interior design in Vancouver—a highly customized, character-filled sanctuary where it is nearly impossible to tell which incredible details are original and which are brand new.
